1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email, password, and role (parent, host, community partner, admin).
• Child information: first name, age, and any allergy/accessibility notes you choose to share, provided by a parent or guardian.
• Payment information: processed by Stripe. We receive limited details such as last-4, card brand, billing ZIP, and subscription status — we never see your full card number.
• Craft Host verification: if you apply as a Host, we collect identity documents, background-check consent, portfolio information, and payout details for our verification workflow.
• Bookings and reviews: event details, messages between parents and Hosts, ratings, and written reviews.
• Community partner details: community name, address, unit count, and contact person.
• Uploads: profile photos, kit photos, and (for Hosts) ID and portfolio uploads stored in a private storage bucket.
• Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and basic analytics needed to operate the site.

2. How we use information

• To provide the Services — process orders, ship Adventure Boxes, run subscriptions, connect families with Hosts, and moderate the marketplace.
• To verify Craft Host identity and eligibility.
• To communicate about your account, bookings, shipments, and important service updates.
• To send marketing emails when you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To detect fraud, protect children and Hosts, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share information with

• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Cloud infrastructure — our hosting and database provider stores account data and file uploads on our behalf.
• Craft Hosts — when you request a booking, the Host sees your name, contact info, and event details necessary to fulfill the booking.
• Community partners — resident participation summaries in aggregate form when a community sponsors your access.
• Email delivery providers — to send transactional and (optional) marketing email.
• Legal & safety — where required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the safety of children, families, and Hosts.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Children's privacy

Happy Place is designed for children to enjoy with a parent or guardian. Accounts and purchases must be made by an adult, and any child-specific information (first name, age, allergies) is entered by the parent for the sole purpose of running clubs, events, and Adventure Boxes safely. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Data retention

We keep account, booking, and payment records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Host verification uploads are retained only as long as needed for the verification decision and any required record-keeping period.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, role-based access, and private storage buckets for sensitive uploads. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and let us know immediately if you suspect a problem.

8. Your choices and rights

• Access, correct, or delete your account information by emailing support@happyplacecraftspace.com.
• Cancel subscriptions at any time in your account.
• Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message.
• Residents of certain regions (e.g., California, EEA/UK) have additional rights under applicable laws such as CCPA and GDPR — contact us to exercise them.

9. International users

Happy Place is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. under U.S. law.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, for active subscribers, communicated by email or in-app notice.
