Terms of Service
The ground rules for using Happy Place Craft Space.
Last updated: July 19, 2026
Welcome to Happy Place Craft Space ("Happy Place," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, memberships, Adventure Boxes, community subscriptions, ticketed events, and the Craft Host marketplace (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account, purchasing a product, subscribing, booking a Craft Host, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who can use Happy Place
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, make a purchase, or enter into a subscription. Children under 18 may participate in clubs, events, and Adventure Boxes only when enrolled or supervised by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian is required at all clubs and events.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that put other members, children, or Craft Hosts at risk.
3. Memberships, subscriptions, and one-time purchases
Membership ($59/month), Craft Host membership ($39/month, $99/month, or $990/year), Community Partner subscriptions ($249/$499/$799 per month), Adventure Box pre-orders, and event tickets are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Recurring plans renew automatically until cancelled. See our Subscription Terms and Refund Policy for details.
4. Craft Host marketplace
Craft Hosts are independent contractors, not employees, agents, joint venturers, or partners of Happy Place. We verify certain information about Craft Hosts (including identity and background where applicable), but we do not directly supervise events, control pricing outside published packages, or guarantee any specific outcome. Specifically:
- Hosts set their own schedules, availability, pricing (within marketplace guidelines), and event formats.
- Hosts are solely responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, and federal business, tax, licensing, permitting, and insurance requirements.
- Hosts are solely responsible for the planning, supervision, staffing, safety, and operation of their events.
- Happy Place does not employ, direct, or supervise Hosts and provides no benefits, workers' compensation, or unemployment coverage.
- Happy Place may, in its sole discretion, suspend, remove, or decline to list any Host for violating our policies, receiving credible safety complaints, or failing verification.
5. Bookings and the customer–Host relationship
When you book a Craft Host, you enter into an agreement directly with that Host. Happy Place acts only as a marketplace and technology platform that facilitates discovery, booking, and payment.
- Platform fee. Happy Place collects a platform fee (currently $2.00 plus 5% of the booking total) at checkout.
- Payment release. Payments (less platform fees and refunds) are released to the Host after the event has taken place, generally within 3–7 business days, subject to Stripe's payout schedule.
- Cancellations. Each Host publishes their own cancellation window on their profile. If a Host cancels, you receive a full refund and we will help you rebook with another verified Host where possible. See our Refund Policy.
- Disputes. Contact us within 7 days of a booking and we will attempt to mediate in good faith. Where warranted, Happy Place may pause payout, issue a refund from held funds, or remove a Host — but Happy Place is not a party to the Host–customer agreement and is not liable for a Host's performance.
- Intervention. Happy Place may intervene at any time to protect child safety, investigate policy violations, hold funds pending review, or comply with law.
6. Events, clubs, and private parties
- A parent or legal guardian must remain on-site during all clubs, events, and private parties.
- You are responsible for disclosing relevant allergies, medical conditions, and accessibility needs when registering.
- Craft materials may include glue, paint, scissors, small parts, and food-adjacent items — inspect kits and events for suitability.
- We may cancel or reschedule events for safety, weather, low attendance, or Host unavailability; you will be offered a refund or credit.
7. Assumption of risk
Craft activities and in-person events involve ordinary risks, including but not limited to the use of scissors, glue, paint, small craft components, food-adjacent ingredients, and interaction with other participants in a shared space. By purchasing an Adventure Box, enrolling a child in a club, attending an event, or booking a Craft Host, you acknowledge that you understand these risks and voluntarily agree to participate — and to allow your child(ren) to participate — under your own supervision. You are responsible for assessing the suitability of each activity for your child's age, abilities, and any allergies or medical conditions, and for supervising your child at all times. Happy Place may require a separate event waiver or release for specific in-person activities.
8. Adventure Boxes and physical products
Product images, contents, and ship dates are estimates and may change. The January 2027 Adventure Box pre-order ships between December 15 and December 25, 2026, subject to carrier availability. Each subsequent monthly Adventure Box ships between the 15th and 25th of the prior month (for example, the February box ships January 15–25). Risk of loss transfers to you on delivery. Please supervise children when they open and use kit materials.
9. User content and reviews
You may submit reviews, photos, applications, and messages. You represent that you own or have rights to the content, that it does not violate anyone's rights, and that it does not include images or personal information of other people's children without consent. You grant Happy Place a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reformat, and use your submissions to operate and promote the Services. We may remove content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.
10. Prohibited use
- No harassment, discrimination, or unsafe conduct toward children, families, Hosts, or staff.
- No fraudulent bookings, chargebacks, or attempts to circumvent our fees or verification.
- No scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorized access to our systems.
- No use of the Services to violate any law or third-party right.
11. Intellectual property
The Happy Place name, logos, kit designs, curriculum, artwork, and website content are owned by Happy Place or our licensors. Except for user content you submit, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Services for their intended purpose.
12. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any Craft Host or third party will meet your expectations.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Happy Place and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid to Happy Place in the twelve months before the claim arose.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Happy Place from claims arising out of your use of the Services, your user content, your interactions with Craft Hosts or other users, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and Happy Place agree that any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Volusia County, Florida, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date, and for active subscribers we will provide notice by email or in-app message.
